My name is Arnold Dubin and I live in the east central part of Florida in a town called Indialantic. I primarily enjoy photographing birds. Within a couple miles from where I live there are many magnificent areas for capturing images of birds. I also like taking candid pictures of people in their natural environment and documenting my family’s travel adventures. This is only a hobby for me and I enjoy sharing my images with my family and friends. I started to get interested in photography when I was a teenager starting with Kodak Brownie and had my own B&W darkroom in the basement of our house. I progressed to a Twin Lens Reflex Yashica-Mat and still used only B&W film. In my late teens and early 20’s I started capturing slide images first with an Argus C3 and then a Nikon F film camera. When I started a family with my wife and work was very time consuming, I put my photography on the back burner. In May of 2004 I started getting interested in photography again. The first Digital Single Lens Reflex I purchased was a Nikon D70. Since then I upgraded to a Nikon D200 with 5 lenses ranging from 15mm to over 1000mm in focal length. Five years ago I started using Adobe Photoshop for my web development business. For over 4 years I have belonged to NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). I thought I could fix any of my poor photographs using Photoshop and I realized I was spending on the average 1 to 2 hours to take a poor picture and trying to make it a better one. All I did was get a mediocre picture. I then realized it was time to learn more about various techniques of taking a great picture. I have been to several photography courses, read many books and articles, joined the Camera Club of Brevard, and joined several photograph critiquing web forums. I can definitely see the improvements in my photographs.. Currently I’m using Adobe Lightroom 2 for file cataloging and enhancing my photographs. These days I’m spending very little time using Adobe Photoshop to enhance my photos. As I said photography is my hobby and not a livelihood. I do enter my photographs in our Camera Club and various contests around Florida. During the last several years I have won many contests. Several of my photographs have also been published in local newspaper, websites, and various other publications. If you have a chance, please take a look at my photograph galleries. If you have any comments and/or critiques I would greatly appreciate them. You can leave them on this website or you can phone me - (321) 723-7787 or send me an Email: arnold@dubinphotos.com. Photography is great hobby! You can be very creative, there are always lots of new techniques to learn, and most important is having fun with it. |
Let's hope it gets good ones soon!
